A collection of essays by various authors covering politics, religion, the arts, sciences and other aspects of everyday life in 16th and 17th century England. Each volume includes many illustrations. Volume 2 has an extensive index. This set is ex-library with typical markings but remains quite readable. Bindings are intact. Blue cloth boards with gold stamping are stained and show light edge wear. Front hinge cracked in volume 1. Edges are aged and show light stains, Texts appear clean and unmarked. No dust jackets.
