Octavo, illustrations, original pictorial wrappers. Nice example of a scarce pamphlet often found in used condition.

First edition. Contemporary guide to the short-lived (circa 1920s-60s) but legendary 'Shannon Rise'. Uniquely produced by Hydro-Electric Commission water flow, the prolific yearly hatch of the snowflake caddis fly in the Shannon River below the Great Lake dam at Miena was an annual and much anticipated dry-fly fishing event in Tasmania. Wigram was a regular, claiming to have 'missed only one rise' between 1927 and 1953.
