Published within the "Bright and Early Books for Beginning Beginners" series. Octavo. Original laminated pictorial boards, spine and front cover lettered in white, yellow, orange and green, illustrated endpapers. With pictorial dust jacket. Colour illustrations throughout by the author. Extremities slightly rubbed, minor colour restoration to extremities; spine of jacket slightly faded, tear to front panel, some adhesive tape repairs to reverse, occasional creases, some minor colour restoration, unclipped: a very good copy in a very good jacket. Younger and Hirsch 72.

Theodor Seuss Geisel-aka Dr. Seuss-is, quite simply, one of the most beloved children's book authors of all time. The forty-four books he wrote and illustrated under the name Dr. Seuss (and others that he wrote but did not illustrate, including some under the pseudonyms Theo.
