About This Item

[Ashuelot, NH]: Golgonooza Letter Foundry, 1989. Near fine.. First printing of this triangular accordion book of an amorous poem by John Keats, this copy previously owned by the founder of the Miniature Book Society. The theme of desire in SHARING EVE'S APPLE is reflected in the pink and rather yonic form of this charming accordion book. This copy features the bookplate of Kalman L. Levitan, miniature book collector, bibliographer, and founder and first chairman of the Miniature Book Society. We locate only two holdings of this edition via OCLC. 4'' x 2''. Original stiff triangle-shaped pink boards with chalk hand-coloring. Pink marbled endpapers. [14] triangular leaves folded concertina-stlyle, printed one side only, facing pages lightly hand-colored with chalk. Bookplate of Kalman L. Levitan to front pastedown. Numbered 45 of 50 to colophon; signed by Clark to final blank. Binding with a hint of edgewear. Bright.
