Pages are very clean and unmarked (except one recipe has a small note saying 'very good'). No stains, no underlining or highlighting, no creases. The Introduction and first 5 chapters and first five chapters are fully illustrated with colour photographs. These illustrate various cooking techniques--a primer of shellfish cookery, poaching and steaming, stewing, frying, baking and broiling, and special presentations elaborating on basic techniques. The Anthology of Recipes section, with vignette illustrations, has detailed recipes for cooking all kinds of shellfish--oysters, lobster, crayfish, shallots, bivalves, mussels, shrimp, prawns, crab, abalone, scallops, conch--also octopus and squid. 176 pages. 11 x 9.5 inches. 1982, Time-Life Books
