About This Item

Peter Davies, London, 1953. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 2nd Edition. The first reissue of the second of the author's Inspector Grant crime novels (the 1936 original was the first of the series to be issued under her familiar 'Josephine Tey' pseudonym; the 1929 'The Man in the Queue' having been published under her 'Gordon Daviot' nom de plume). 8vo. 246pp + [iv] publisher's advertisements for other Tey novels. Red cloth lettered in cream at the spine. A narrow sliver of chafing to the fore edge margin of the upper board, and some light toning to the free endpapers. A very good copy in Val Biro-designed non-price-clipped dust wrapper, nicked at the spine panel ends and at the tips of several corners with just a little loss..
