Percival Marshall, London, 1950. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 82 pp. Black and white photographic frontispiece, showing the author in his workshop with a late 16th century galleon. The text is illustrated with black and white photographs or black and white line drawings. Illustrated front cover showing a scale model ship and scale model ship making tools, with grey background and maroon writing on the front panel and spine. Corners of the book are scuffed and creased and there is scrapping along the top and bottom book edge. Sun damage to the spine with resultant trading of the writing and there is discussing to the head and healed spine and a small tear to the bottom front spine gutter. Covers are somewhat faded. "But there seemed a great scarcity of information on what might be called workshop practice; the best way of achieving a result without undue wastage of time, of effort, and material, .." -- this small book gives a helpful jog in the right direction.
