Vol. II. 74 pgs., with b/w illustrs. Vol. III., 100 pgs. with excellent colour lithograph illustrs. Pages are printed on one side; illustrations are captioned in English, German, Dutch and French. Gently used copies with light scuffs and typical age toning to endpapers. No names, marks, or bookplates. Van Konijnenburg was an engineer for the Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management) 1895-1905.Two heavy volumes will require additional shipping charges. A comprehensive review of the development of shipping from antiquity to the end of the nineteenth century. Volume one is a historical analysis, volume II profusely illustrated with historical images of ships, and volume III containing chromolithographic images of ships.
