Brussels: The Permanent International Association of Congresses of Navigation. First Edition . Hardcover. Vg/No Jacket. Oblong 13x9" Landscape Folio. Two Volumes Only. No date; circa 1910. Vol. II. 74 pgs., with b/w illustrs. Vol. III., 100 pgs. with excellent colour lithograph illustrs. Pages are printed on one side; illustrations are captioned in English, German, Dutch and French. Gently used copies with light scuffs and typical age toning to endpapers. No names, marks, or bookplates. Van Konijnenburg was an engineer for the Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management) 1895-1905.Two heavy volumes will require additional shipping charges. Volume I: 107 pages, plus 7 colored maps at rear; volume II: 74 pages, illustrated by 277 figures; volume III: 100 pages, illustrated by 150 colored figures. A comprehensive review of the development of shipping from antiquity to the end of the nineteenth century. Volume one is a historical analysis, volume II profusely illustrated with historical images of ships, and volume III containing chromolithographic images of ships. The softcover volume I with previous owner's blindstamp and showing wear, soiling and chipping to wraps, volumes II and III in very good condition with only moderate wear Size: Oblong Quarto.
