About This Item
Ann Arbor Media Group, 2007-05. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair/Fair. Hardcover, ISBN 1587264307, 200 pages with bibliography. Book is retired library copy with typical markings. Full bound black boards and gilt lettering to spine. Binding is solid and square. Dustjacket in Fair condition, with library sticker to lower spine and upper left rear corner; front and rear inner flaps attached to boards; wrinkling to two pages. A fascinating history of the deep water Great Lakes wreck divers - men like David Trotter, John Steele and Paul Ehorn. It also tells the highly personal story of Danny Fader and his ill-fated last wreck dive, 200 feet down on the 1840's side wheel steamer Detroit. It is a story of bravery and the quest for a dream, of skill and experience pitted against an unforgiving environment that can kill in mere seconds. It is a story of luck, and what happens when the luck runs out.
