About This Item
First hardcover edition, with dust jacket, published by Harvill Press, 1984. This is the first UK edition. The dust jacket has been price clipped on the bottom corner of the front flap. Her Newby travels through the countries of the Mediterranean, moving clockwise, writing of their history and the many people they meet along the way. No further wear to the jacket besides the price clip, it has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Jacket design and interior illustrations by Jonathan Newby. Sturdy green cloth covered boards, with no edge wear, the corners are not bumped or creased. Author and title imprinted on the spine in gold, all lettering is crisp and legible. 448 pages with Index. Binding is tight and square. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. Edges of the text block are clean. A beautiful copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
