London: J. Darling, 1814. First editions.. 8vo. Full diced calf, decorative gilt borders; the spine restored, ruled in gilt, and what appears to be the original title lable mounted upon it. The second work, Letters From The Eastern Coast of Spain ... (35pp.) is bound in at page 50 in the midst of the first work, and the balance of the first work bound in after it, including additionally a short section on the death of Captain Hansen, XXth Light Dragoons, who was killed during the Peninsular Campaign in 1813. Bound at the end is a separately-paged Appendix (68pp.) containing detailed descriptions of many battles and listing the casualties, mentioning Captain Hanson on the final page. The upper title page bears an inscription from a family member: "Charles S. Hanson / Alfred Charles Rumbale / in memory of his Great Uncle".
