About This Item

UK,slim 8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn. FINE-/VG. No owner inscrptn and no price-clip but small corner crease to that corner tip of dw/dj.Clean,matt black background with glossy laminated colour pictorial artwork illustration of hourglass to front+spine of dw/dj with bright,crisp,blocked,gilt-lettered title and white-lettered subtitle and author's capitalised,matt,white-lettered name and capitalised.matt,grey-lettered THE INTERNATIONAL NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER' to front's lower edge. Spine/backstrip with thumbnail glossy colour repeated hourglass illustration to head of same and similarly coloured+lettered part-title and author's name as the front's and publisher's b/w lettered+ illustrated name and colophon respectively,to foot of same, rear panel of dw/dj with red-lettered story's prose and glossy thumbnail colour illustrations of previous 4 books' covers.Negligible shelf-wear to edges and corners – no nicks, tears or splits present - but assumed previous owner's(?) attempted removal of publisher's/retailer's adhesive roundel to front's glossy illustration has also removed a portion of the illustration's laminate. Top edges lightly aged/toned with very faint dust-soiling,fore-edges bright, crisp and clean; both top+fore-edges without foxing/spotting; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound – virtually pristine with no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips – would appear unread, other than my own collation.Publisher's bright, crisp and clean,sharp-cornered,original plain black cloth boards with bright, crisp, blocked bronze gilt lettered spine/backstrip,and immaculate plain maroon endpapers.UK,slim 8vo HB+ dw/dj,1st edn,1-178pp [paginated] includes novella with no numbered chapters - a continuous story; plus [unpaginated] half-title+title pages,a dedication, author's Introduction and to the rear,2pp blanks follwed by Acknowledgements as last page. Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional more than acceptable and particularly internally,is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of its 14-year-old age.]It is only the minor faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite them,it really is still an exemplary example for its cleanliness and lack of other detracting faults. In March 2010, Meyer revealed on her official website that she would be releasing a new novella in the series - this title - which tells the story of a newborn vampire who appeared in 'Eclipse', on June 5th, 2010. An electronic version of the book was made available free from her web site, and then available to purchase in bookstores. Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes and unstoppable physical strength.Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood . . . life before she became a vampire. All Bree knows is that living wih her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself and, above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out. Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego,a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as her. As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined,Bree and Diego must choose sides and decode whom to trust. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie,how do you find the truth? In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance,Meyer tells the devastating story of the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.
