About This Item

London: Privately Printed for Members of the Elzevir Society, 1901. Hardcover. Very good. No. 6 of 100 copies of the Edition De Luxe. Translated by Clara Bell with introduction by George Saintsbury. 8vo, 9 x 6 inches, half dark green morocco and marbled boards, raised bands, gilt stamped & decorated on spine, very good, the spine color and parts of corners and boards have turned to a warm ruddy brown color (green is a notoriously "fugitive" color), contents very good, pages mainly uncut and unopened, very very light ex-library marks from CMU Library -- pencil note on verso of title page, withdrawn stamp on verso of rear flyleavf. Frontisiece and occasional engraved plates. Very handsome readable edition.
