About This Item
David C. Cook; Elgin, Illinois, 1929 First edition. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt front board lettering (bright), 7 1/2 x 5 inches, 95 pp., 3 b/w illustrations. Illustrated by G.S. Goodnow. Book very good plus (sunning/darkening of spine; modest edge wear). From the Foreword: "When Edna Marie Chase rode forth to explore the newly inherited ranch, she did not dream of adventure. Being caught in a sand storm was a new experience; but being protected by a weird-looking enemy was quite a startling event. While hunting for Calico, her horse, after the storm, Edna Marie met a neighbor and learned about the feud which had sprung up over the water rights of the region. This worried her greatly. Upon her arrival home after one of her trips to Sally Benson's home, Edna Marie found her brother, Robert, and her father had innocently added fuel to the smoldering feud." (1722RO082). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket.
