In 1992, Georgia Howton, a head-librarian of one of the UCLA libraries, sent a letter to Lawrence Clark Powell, asking him if she could send him a copy of his book"An Orange Grove Boyhood" for signing. We are here offering Powell's hand-written reply and the book with a dedication to Gloria by Howell. (her letter to Powell is not included) The letter is dated 'Tuscon, 12 June 92'.

Powell writes, that he remembers Gloria, and has followed her "extraordinary career". Powell mentions the death of his wife and of an old friend: "At 85 I'm feeling my age in these losses I suffer" He continues the letter by writing about his work of helping to get the new library school accredited.

The book is the Capra Press first edition from 1988. First Edition. Brown hardback cloth cover. (9" x 6"). 80pp. In very good condition with dust jacket. It has some very light spotting on the endpapers and has a Mylar cover.
