Small Quarto (9 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. 240 x 215 mm), 98 [2] pages, in heavy illustrated wrappers (soft cover).

SIGNED
by artist Larry Rivers on the upper wrapper, the first issue of this art and literary magazine that was devoted to Abstract Expressionism and New York School poetry. Rivers (1923-2002) contributed the cover art, designed the magazine, and wrote an article about collaborating with poets Frank O'Hara and Kenneth Koch. Other contributors include Koch, David Levy, Robert Rauschenberg, Kenneth Burke, Saul Steinberg, Marshall McLuhan, Willem de Kooning, Saul Bellow, and Peter Yates, among others.

SCARCE SIGNED.

CONDITION: Some flaking to the top of the spine, soiling to the wrappers, and slight toning to the page edges and verso of upper wrapper. A Very Good copy.
