About This Item

New York, 1953. 1st Edition. 1st Edition. Signed by Author. Egon Petri - [1881-1962]. Great German born pianist. Pupil of Busoni. Signed tribute to Steinway & Sons. New York: 1953. In 1953 Steinway celebrated its Centennial & Steinway artists from around the globe wrote congratulatory tributes which were sent to Theodore E. Steinway (1883-1957), piano technician, philatelist and son of Henry E. Steinway, piano technician & the founder of Steinway & Sons. One page ALS on plain white letterhead: "Dear Mr. Steinway, When I started playing the piano as a small boy, I used to dream about being able to sit at a Steinway grand on a concert platform. It took some years before I gave my first recital and some time more before the piano under my hands was the one which I had always loved so much. My feelings have not changed since then and I still find that no other piano satisfies me as completely as the Steinway, which for me is the most wonderful instrument ever built. Egon Petri" In fine condition. Original Autographed Letters & Documents.
