The John C. Winston Co, January 1937. Hardcover. Collectible - Good/No Jacket. Silver cloth covered boards with navy blue text and illustration. Rubbing to corners. Endpages are beautiful silver foil with navy blue illustrations. Previous owner's bookplate has been pasted to the inside front cover. Previous owner's name on verso of endpage. Some ink from the signature has transferred to the verso of the color frontispiece. Illustrations by Kurt Wiese, Caldecott Award Winner. This is a beautiful book. Winston did not mark their first editions before 1948, so it is impossible to know if this is a first edition.
