About This Item

Philadelphia: The Union Press Publishers, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Very Good+/Near Fine. 8vo. Pp. 359. Bound in black cloth with a silver trumpet and silver lettering stamped on front board, silver lettering on spine. With the discreet stamp of Bertrand Smith's "Acres of Books" Long Beach bookstore on the front pastedown, along with the Book Market (San Jose) bookseller label. Date written on front free endpaper (Aug. 15, 1931). Slight nick on dust jacket spine, along with a closed two-inch tear along front panel-spine fold (please see photo). A superb copy with both book and dust jacket quite bright. Subsequently reprinted, this being the first edition of the novel concerning a young woman whose piano prowess beguiles college boys. Dust jacket now enclosed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
