Yellow wrappers printed in black within decorative border with same vignette. Decorative initial letter in yellow and black. University of Washington Chapbooks, edited by Glenn Hughes, no. 5. The author, Vernon Louis Parrington (1871-1929), was an American literary historian and author of Main Currents in American Thought, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1928. He joined the University of Washington in 1908 and was one of the founders of the American studies movement in the 1920s. In Near Fine Condition: edges of wrapper slightly rubbed; clean and bright.
