The contents are laid into black wrappers with an image of a green leaf on the front cover. The book is housed in a plain cardboard folding slipcase with "Sine" printed in black on the front panel. There is some light creasing to the top & bottom edges of the wraps. The case is slightly darkened around the edges & there is a tiny tear to its rear panel. 34 pink leaves, (including half-title, title & 30 illustrations). 32 of the leaves are laid loose in the portfolio as issued. Very good. <p>First edition.<p>Billedbog 1 is a sequence of ingenious sexually explicit and often political cartoons calculated to offend the unwary.<p>French cartoonist Maurice Sinet [1928-2016] used the pseudonym Bob Sine. A series of drawings of cats was his breakthrough work. He then began working as a political cartoonist for L'Express, and later started his own publication Sine Massacre. A controversial anarchist, his anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism and anti-clericalism often got him into trouble. He was accused of anti-Semitism and fired for an article and cartoons in the magazine Charlie Hebdo referring to the marriage of Jean Sarkozy [son of then French President Nicholas Sarkozy] to a Jewish heiress. In 2010 he won a lawsuit against the publisher for wrongful termination.
