About This Item
London: Routledge, 1947. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. Octavo. 5.5 x 8.75 in. viii, 138 pp. Very good in original red cloth with lettering on spine in gilt, foxing to edge of text block and endpapers. Association Copy. Warmly inscribed by Dahlberg to the poet Jonathan Williams. Dahlberg briefly taught at Black Mountain College and his position was replaced by poet Charles Olson. Dahlberg's upbringing is curious, spending the first five years of his life "vagabonding" with his mother until they landed in Kansas City where she operated the Star Lady Barbershop, followed by Catholic and Jewish Orphanage schooling until he attended college to study Philosophy.
