Chipped spine ends to jacket, affecting lettering at top, and light wear elsewhere. Ink signature on front pastedown. Some offsetting to endpapers.

The ninth book in the Scarlet Pimpernel series. Baroness Orczy established the idea of "the hero with the secret identity." The Scarlet Pimpernel, alter ego of Sir Percy Blakeney, becomes a quick-thinking escape artist in order to save ill-fated French nobility from the guillotine.

Synopsis

First published in 1927, Sir Percy Hits Back is (chronologically) the ninth book in the Scarlet Pimpernel series by Baroness Orczy. A French language version, translated and adapted by Charlotte and Marie-Louise Desroyses, was also produced under the title La Vengeance du Mouron Rouge.
