Sitka, AK: Arrowhead Press, 1936. Paperback. GOOD. FIRST EDITION. STAPLED WRAPS. The history of Sitka, Alaska, beginning with the search for the Northwest Passage. When Cook and his crew arrived in the northwest, they found the Spanish has already come up and started to settle, and the Russians arrived about thirty-five years before the Spanish! Also noted are early trade and industry, the death of Alexander Baranoff, the Great Days and the Black Days, and Sitka Today. 40 pp with 8 pp ads to rear of text. A shadow to title-page from sticker on inside of front cover. Slight warping from a past spill to the fore edges of the 40 pp of text, with a little blue from cover bleeding to the first page. Front cover and spine sun-faded, light wear to edges, front and rear lower corners curl out, pages follow suit, light soiling to front cover fore edge and light creasing to lower corner. Staples intact, but slight separation at rear between card covers and final leaf. 14 lovely illustrations. Text is clean.
