In addition, this is a presentation copy, inscribed by him on the first blank: ''for Frank and Anita two octaves of an obsolete form - Love John & Martha 3/16/79''. The recipients are Frank Kermode and his wife. Updike considered Kermode the best British reviewer and was the dedicatee of one of Kermode's books.Fine. Not issued in dustwrapper.
