A travel work looking at the turn of the century in Ireland, Egypt, the Cape, and Italy.
With a colour frontispiece, twenty-seven colour plates, and numerous in-text monochrome engravings.
Written and illustrated by Elizabeth Thompson, Lady Butler. Thompson was a famed painter of history paintings, one of the only female painters of her time who found fame with her scenic paintings, such as battle scenes.
With six pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. Collated, complete. Condition: In the original publisher's cloth binding.
A little bumping to the tail of the spine and extremities.
Clean and tightly bound.
Pages are bright and generally clean.
