About This Item
London: Stedman, [1793/1794].. An engraved map on wove paper, measuring 35cm x 46cm. Some offsetting, old folds, closed tear to the right edge repaired on the verso with archival tape, very good condition. This is the 1793/1794 Stedman edition of the map originally published by William Faden in 1777. This map was issued in Stedman's work "The History of the Origin, Progress, and Termination of the American War" (London, 1794). It shows General Grant's Position during the Battle of Long Island in 1776. The upper right corner bears the text: "To front Page 195. Vol. I." This map will be shipped folded, as it was originally issued.
