Slade oversaw his undisciplined crew on a barely seaworthy freighter named "Tinkerbelle". The captain and crew were byword of debauchery, drunkenness and lust throughout the Caribbean. Then in December 1939 they come across the results of the disguised German marauder "Tamerande", whose task was to create havoc among the sea lanes in the Caribbean, under Hitler's orders. Despite the unworthiness of his vessel, Slade harried the German merchantman relentlessly to a explosive confrontation ... softening and fading to the backstrip edges with some rubs and marked to the book panels.
