About This Item

New York, NY, U.S.A: Mysterious Press, 1987. First Hardback Edition. Hard Cover. Used; Like New/Near Fine. Type: Remainder MacDonald's favorite of his own books, originally published in paperback, published a few months after his death in hardcover. Includes his comments on the history of the book. It's a gritty look at the exploitation of Florida by developers, some political corruption, people young and old whose morals are in some question, and a likeable protagonist who's had some bad luck. Only after finishing it did it occur to me that this was not a murder mystery as I'd anticipated!
