About This Item

New York: Hill and Wang, 2009. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8 1/4h x 5 1/2w. A real nice 208 page first edition hardcover. Pages have a little aging and there is a small tape repaired spot on back. Oveall a very nice book . David Waldstreicher has written the first book to recognize slavery's place at the heart of the U.S. Constitution. Famously, the Constitution never mentions slavery. And yet, of its eighty-four clauses, six were directly concerned with slaves and the interests of their owners. Five other clauses had implications for slavery that were considered and debated by the delegates to the 1787 Constitutional Convention and the citizens of the states during ratification..

About Warren's Books

I have been selling books since 1976. I am not a mega-lister that just types in an ISBN and paste a message of how great I am or how many books we\I sell. I list each book carefully trying to tell the faults and positives of our book. Most of the time I will tell what the book is about and list if it a first edition, hardcover or has a dust jacket. Photos of books are usually my scan and not a stock photo. If you have any questions, please ask. If you decide to pay with check or money order, please make it out to Warren Hahn, That's me!! I have about 5,200 books online with another 200 to list.
