"Sleepy-Time Stories" is one of the most charming books for little children. It is dainty and fascinating, and those who can read it, or have it read to them, will want sleepy-time to come very often." – The Congregationalist, 1899. Stories for children include: "Butterfly-Blue and Butterfly-Dear," "What Became of Angel-Flower," and "The Story of Two Little Lambs."

Near fine. 50 pages. 23.5 x 16 cm. 8 black and white full-page illustrations, decorative page borders. A smoking-themed parody spurred undoubtedly in part by the proliferation of fine press and arts and crafts editions of the Rubaiyat. The editor here concludes the burning need was not more translators, but for more Omars to translate, thus the son of Omar lying undiscovered in the wilds of Borneo sings the praises of tobacco over alcohol. Unobtrusive owner name on cover.
