The First English translation of this German children's classic by Mark Twain with a Forward by his daughter Clara Clemens

Introduction by Philip Hofer

Now printed, for the first time, for the members of The Limited Editions Club, by The Marchbanks Press, New York, 1935

This is the 68th book title of 589 book titles published by The Limited Editions Club from 1929 to 2011. (see photos)

The Limited Editions Club was founded in 1929 by George Macy with the intent of publishing beautifully illustrated and designed classic literature for a limited number of subscribers. Much of the Club's fame stems from its use of some of the best illustrators and artists available. Each title was uniquely designed with individualized paper, cover materials, and most books are numbered and signed by the Illustrator.

Attractively bound in gilt-stamped red half morocco leather with color cloth sides with a lithographed design by LeRoy H. Appleton (see photos) in Blue Suede Slipcase and Blue Suede Chemise

The book size: 12 1/2" high x 9 1/4" wide, 34 pages
