Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1967. Uncorrected Proof. Near Fine. Advance uncorrected proof of the first American edition. Publisher's plastic comb-bound stiff wraps. Near Fine with toning and light wear, several trivial bends to the comb binding. With tentative release date and price on a slip of paper taped to front cover, with crease to slip and small tear to tape. A novella by Tolkien not connected to the Middle-earth legendarium, except by the thematic "Faery" motif of the traveler who journeys to a land that lies beyond the normal world and is usually beyond the reach of mortals. Scarce in this format.
