Boston: Ticknor, Reed and Fields, 1852. First Edition. 8vo, pp. 273. Bound in brown cloth stamped in blind on the covers and gilt on the spine. Contemporary ownership signtaure on the end paper, adv. dated January, 1852. Cloth worn off at the extremities of the spine, a very good copy. BAL 7607; Clark A19.1a. Printed in an edition of 2425 copies. This is a collection of 17 tales and sketches. The best remembered are "Ethan Brand" and "My Kinsman Major Molineaux.
