Hartwick, preliminaries very lightly spotted, frontispiece guard moderately spotted and offset to title, small neat signature on front free endpaper; original pictorial blue cloth gilt, fife and drummer boys from plate facing p.58 elaborately blocked in gilt on upper board, pictorial back gilt, all edges gilt, a very bright, crisp, clean copy. Collects seven stories first published between 1888 and 1890. Livingston, 133; Martindale 67; Stewart 157.
