Naples, Florida: Midway Publishers, 1980. Hardcover. Very good/good. Octavo. Blue hardcover with pictorial red, white, and blue dust jacket. 316 pages, [1]. Color frontispiece of "Medals of Honor awarded Ensign George Gay, USNR." Illustrated. Picture of Gay inside the front dust jacket flap and on the back cover holding up a Time magazine cover. Light shelf and light edge wear to the dust jacket. Light foxing to the back dust jacket fold. This copy is inscribed and signed by the author on the right front flyleaf. George Gay was the sole survivor of the 'Torpedo Squadron Eight' at the Battle of Midway June 4,5, 1942. The first edition was self published by the author in 1979.
