Boston: American Unitarian Association, 1902. Cloth. Good. Illustrated brown cloth. A collection of four essays on labor and workers, their use and treatment by employers. This includes Religion in Relation to Sociology, the Relation of Political Economy to the Labor Question, the Factory as an Element in Civilization and the Ethics of Prison Labor. Carroll D. Wright was the first US Commissioner of Labor, serving from 1895 to 1905, with most of his career spent as a statistician and lecturer, often working on labor and economic concerns, including the improvement of working conditions. GOOD condition. Ex-library with a spine label and bookplates present. Minor soiling, rubbing and edgewear to the covers. First endpaper offset from the bookplate.
