London: Simpkin & Marshall, 1831. Cloth. Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Green cloth binding with paper title label on the front cover, marking and fading to the covers. The hinges are secure, lacks the front endpaper, pulled slightly at the start. The text is complete, toning to the pages, some marking to the endpapers. Dimensions; 148 by 96mm. Pages; 76, (2). Particulars of Alexander I of Russia, by Henri-Louis Empaytaz, minister of the Gospel. Empaytaz's ideas were said to have a profound effect on Alexander of Russia, and for a time he was said to be a 'confidant of the emperor's most secret thoughts', along with Madame de Krudener, the 3 would hold imperial prayer meetings, having a profound influence on such events as the occupation of Paris, and the establishment of the Holy Alliance after the defeat of Napoleon, this is a recollection of those prayer meetings.
