London: Collins, 1971. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR AND BY MOTHER TERESA. Writings by and about Mother Teresa of Calcutta including the transcript of Muggeridge's conversation with her in Calcutta. Publisher's cream cloth board with gold gilt lettering to the spine. Salmon-pink end-papers. A VG copy (spine a little darkened, minor marks to the boards) in a VG+ dustwrapper minisculy rubbed to the extremities. With the book-plate of Tony M Chance on the verso of the front free end-paper. Attached to the front paste-down is a TLS letter from Malcolm Muggeridge from his Robertsbridge Address in Sussex dated March 1983 addressed to the former owner of this book: Dear Mr Chance, Thank you for your most kind letter which I was delighted to receive. Your good wishes are of course reciprocated and it is encouraging to receive letters such as yours. Thank you again. Yours sincerely, Malcolm Muggeridge (signature in ink). Attached to the front free end-paper is a a prayer from Mother Teresa which she has addressed to "Tony M. Chance" and signed in blue felt tip: "God bless you/ M Teresa me". The envelope used to to post the signed prayer is also in Mother Teresa's hand in blue felt tip and was posted in Rome on June 28, 1984; this is attached to the rear paste-down. On the verso of the rear free end-paper is a review of "Mother Teresa - Beyond the Image" by Anna Sebba from the Times (Tuesday September 9, 1997". Extremely scarce with these attributes.
