About This Item
172 pages. Presumed First Edition. "... although we have made music for countless millennia, it's been scarcely a century since we acquired the technology to capture and explore all its astonishing variety. This is the tale that unfolds in Songcatchers... a panorama of the world's music and a vivid portrait of the pioneers who traveled far and wide to collect it." Includes many historical photos - b/w and color - as we expect from National Geographic. By Mickey Hart, percussionist for the Grateful Dead for three decades.
Dust jacket - now in a protective cover - is very clean and unclipped, but there is one closed tear (~3/4") on the back top edge, and one barely discernable horizontal slice on the back (~3") as if made with a box knife.
Covers are very clean, though there is a light scratch on the back matching the slice noted above. Pages are crisp, clean and unmarked except for a date "Aug 07" inked on the FFEP.
