Hardcover has light blue textured paper-covered boards with gold spine lettering and gold cover illustration. Black and white illustrations and color jacket illustration by Hal Gye. Foreword by Henry Lawson. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Spine ends very lightly bumped. Front cover slightly sunned along the very bottom edge. Top page edges lightly foxed. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Name in ink on front free endpaper, dated 1962. Small bookshop sticker from Brisbane on front endpaper. Pages clean and unmarked. 128 pages. Color illustrated dust jacket has overall surface rubbing, chipped and nicked edges, and small tears. Jacket is NOT price clipped; a few numbers written in pencil next to price. Bottom edge of jacket has some light stains. Also includes yellow wrap-around publisher's band stating "over 200,000 copies SOLD". This edition is "reprinted in the same size and style as the first edition of 1915". Carefully packed, shipped in a box.

The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke is a verse novel by Australian novelist and poet C. J. Dennis. The book sold over 60,000 copies in nine editions within the first year, and is probably one of the highest selling verse novels ever published in Australia.
