Boston: Sat Sanga, 1923. Hardcover. 106p. hardcover collection of poems, orange boards still bright, inscribed by Swami Yogananda to "Mr. Bernard, with best wishes and blessings" on Nov. 7th, 1924. On the following page has been pasted a newspaper clipping, a photo of Yogananda with Luther Burbank, which has toned the facing blank page. Condition is otherwise clean with mild handling. From the circumstances of its acquisition, we believe the Mr. Bernard to whom the author has inscribed the book to be Glen Bernard, a friend of Yogananda in the 1920s, also half brother of Pierre Bernard, "The Great Oom," and father of Theos Bernard, "The White Lama." Even if the recipient were a different Mr. Bernard, this is an attractive inscribed example of a work by an important contributor to East-West understanding in his era.

Bound in publisher's orange pebbled cloth ruled in blind with titles stamped in gilt. Very Good. Corners bumped. Cloth toned at spine, lightly stained affecting bottom inner page corners throughout. Evidence of bookplate removal from front paste down, and former owner rubber stamp there as well; two small areas of excess paper residue to front free endpaper. A collection of mystical poetry, published just three years after Yogananda founded the Self-Realization Fellowship. Scarce in the first edition, and even more so signed.
