About This Item
Regent College Publishing, September 2002. Paper Back. As New. ''It is a difficult and even formidable thing to write on prayer, and one fears to touch the Ark.'' But Forsyth is undaunted and immediately digs in with ''The worst sin is prayerlessness.'' Born in the middle of the nineteenth century, Peter Taylor Forsyth fought against orthodoxy for the right to a more liberal theology, until experiencing a conversion which brought him out of the realm of thought, ''from a lover of love to an object of grace.'' Forsyth remains a theologian throughout this recent reprint (originally published in 1916) by helping us train our imagination to begin with God, and to keep re-attending only to Him. In Forsyth's words, ''Love loves to be told what it knows already. Every lover knows that.'' Very minor cover wear, firm binding, unmarked text.
