First published in 1903 as DuBois, a recent graduate of Harvard in the new discipline of sociology who was becoming recognized for his scholarship both as an African American & his work on "the Negro problem.'' It was republished in 1953 as the Jubilee Edition. This is the First mass market paperback edition, first Printing, from Fawcett (T423) from 1961, in 192 pages with an Introduction by Saunders Redding. Condition is VG: downgraded due to a large chip out of fore edge side of front cover. Else, completely clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages moderately tanned, heavier around edges.
