New York: National Alumni, 1923. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7?" - 9?" tall. Type: Hardback National Alumni, [New York], 1923. Registered edition. Volume IV of the seven set edition. Hardcover Book in Very Good Condition. No Jacket, as issued. Each set was registered in its owner's name at the National Headquarters of The American Legion, with a double page illuminated certificate of ownership (signed by officials of The American Legion) in Volume I. The binding design on this volume is an authorized facsimile of the original art binding on the official Italian copy of the Versailles Peace Treaty, which was signed by King Victor Emmanuel and M Tittoni and deposited in the Archives of the Italian Government. In remarkably good condition in dark blue cloth with exquisite gilt decorated front, spine and titles. Slight wear to corners and spine head and heel. Sewn binding tight and solid, square, endbands. Hinges intact. Top edge gilt. Fore-edge and lower edge rough cut. May be some uncut leaves. Frontis plate with lettered and illustrated guard. Three other plates, monotone. Internals lightly toned, in remarkably good condition with lower edge of pp 181-82 and 183-84 torn, it appears while leaves were being cut, othewise clean, no markings, no creases or tears. A comprehensive and readable source record of the world's great war emphasizing the more important events and presenting these as complete narratives in the actual words of the chief officials and most eminent leaders. Presenting documents from government archives and other authoritative sources, with outline narratives, indices, chronologies, and courses of reading on sociological movements and individual national activities.xxxii, 432 pages. 9.5 x 6.5 inches. 1923, National Alumni, New York.
