About This Item
Southern Pacific Co., 1941. Postcard. Fine. Soft cover. Pack of 5 photo post cards in original envelope. There are actually 7 with two duplicates, so 5 unique views. Post cards are like new, but the envelope has some wear and staining along one edge. No date indicated for the cards except for the fact that one of the post cards refers to the "new streamline train." The Daylight was put into service in 1941 making the dawn-to-dusk run between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The post cards include SP 203: "Daylight" Streamline Train (illustration); 206-D, 208, and 225: The "Daylight" on its 130 mile run along the coast; and 226: The "daylight" on the Horseshoe Curve near Sam Luis Obispo. The duplicates are for 203 and 208..
