About This Item
No place of publication: no publisher, n.d. [ca. 1900]. Clearly intended for the tourist market, containing scenes of places and people bound into an inlaid lacquer album. Aside from some edge chipping, very good. Many of the photographs are captioned in the negative. The back cover is of inlaid and painted flowers; the front cover pictures landscaping, houses, and a boatman hauling a boat. The boatman’s head and hat is in relief, apparently in ivory.
