Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound in hardcover format, generally clean, lightly toned at worst, minimal rubbing to extremities. Brick-red cloth over boards, copper-colored lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn but at tips and along edges. From the personal library of the noted English historian of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, Professor Peter Morris Green, now of Iowa City, Iowa, 99 years old, nearly blind, but still working, in this case on a new translation and with annotations, of Herodotus, his favorite historian. This is the First U.S. Edition, comprised of fifty poems spanning five decades including from his most influential work, Axion Esti. vi [1], 3-199 [2] pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
