Small stain on front cover between author's name and fore edge. Binding square and sound. Duodecimo: 19.5 x 13.5cm. Originally written and published as a short story, it was first released in book form in 1908 under the William Briggs imprint of the Methodist Book and Publishing House (MBPH) and remained in print through the author's life. First published by Thomas Allen in 1911, this is the seventeenth Thomas Allen edition (impression), 1947, stated.

I read this book back in about 1949 when I was about age 12 yr., and wrote a book report on it then. The teacher was surprised that I had done this book because it was old then. I have no idea what happened to the book but remembered it because I liked it. The thing that me interested in it again was the fact that Nellie McClung was born near my home and there is a cairn to mark the spot. My husband was reading another of her books recently, and it peaked our interest. I discovered on Biblio.com that the original version was still available - the one with the photo on the cover, just like the one that I used to own. So I bought it for sentimental reasons. I just received it so haven't had time to read it. I look forward to reading it again.
