About This Item

New York: World Publishing Co., 1967. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition seventh printing 1967, the boards are clean and sharp. The book tight and clean, spine has perfect titling. The spine ends are bumped. The text block edges are white. The pages are crisp and clean, no spots marks or tears. Feels very well bound and lightly read. Near fine condition. The price clipped jacket as historic tape marks to the edges, going over on to the flaps. The spine is a little toned, the panels have very bold colours. Overall a very good copy. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A seventh printing of this anthology with 7HC67 on copyright page, jacket illustration by Virgil Finlay. The stories are split into two sections: The Explorers and The Settlers, and each story has a very brief, untitled introduction by Norton, who also wrote the preface. The stories contained in this volume are: The Illusionaries by Eric Frank Russell; Moonwalk by H. B. Fyfe; Trail Blazer by Raymond Z. Gallun; Thou Good and Faithful by John Brunner (as K. Houston Brunner); The End of the Line by James H. Schmitz; A Pail of Air by Fritz Leiber; The Farthest Horizon by Raymond F. Jones; Asteroid of Fear by Raymond Z. Gallun; Page and Player by Jerome Bixby. An interesting and uncommon collection in the UK.
